After going through and reading some blogs I have sat down, although never thinking I would and started to type my first. I have been sitting here for 2 hours trying to do homework but in after that time has passed I am sitting here at the same spot as where I started. I just experienced a weekend that has really put a change in the way I think. I am a Christian and I am proud to say it. This past weekend I experience a church function called Dnow or more formally Disciple Now. The theme of the weekend was here and now. Why do we live in the future? Or dwell in the past? Where we are going to go college, where we are going to work, who we are going to date. And in this weekend of talking and reflecting I was touched by the words that if God were not here in each person’s life, whether Christian or not, we would cease to exist. Just in the shear fact that God not only is everywhere in the whole world but he is in the very microscope interworkings of your every person’s life. Without him in everything you can’t even draw your next breathe. Let alone take your next step.
Being a guy who is in the Youth Praise Band, Simply 463, I relate to music more than anything else. I heard the song Free to Be Me a few weeks ago and the first 30 times I listen to a song I just enjoy the sound of it without actually hearing what the words are saying and what they mean. Since I first heard that song I have listened to it consistently and I have learned from the words. This rock star, this singer, this girl, wrote this song and through it directly touched my life. Saying that in this crazy war that is commonly known and referred to as life is not going to be easy to get through. You’re going to struggle with addictions, lust, foul language, hatred, and many other things but none of that matters because the war is won. “But you‘ve already won the battle and you’ve got great plans for me.” Then going on to say that no one is perfect no matter if you look at them and just think of the most perfect person that seems to have no problems and just walks through life, they are just a better liar than you are. Every single person from the North to the South and the East to the West has problems. Some bigger than others but still problems. But with these problems we will fail and we will cave to the looks and the promises of this world if we are alone in them. “But on your shoulders, I can see. I’m free to be me.” But you have everything God every looks for in you because he knows what you are good at and what you’re not so good at.
So with your problems go to God and he will be with you and with him you can fight those problems and you can be who you want to be. People may look at you and judge you but who are they to tell you who you are and who you can. This life shouldn’t be lived in the past wishing for what you once had or lived in the future hoping for what could possibly come but instead you should find out what you should be doing and through Him and live in the Here and Now.
